Notes From the Other Side of the Bench
Collected from follow-up calls and emails, lightly trimmed for length and published with permission. We have deliberately included the sessions that ended without a purchase, because those are the ones that describe how the shop actually operates.
The frequency map was the part that got me. My set went from 268 up to 331 with two clubs completely out of line in the middle. No wonder the 8-iron always felt like a different club.

I expected to be sold a driver. Instead I got told my driver was fine, my shaft was fifteen grams too heavy for how I swing now, and a $34 re-shaft would fix it. It did.

Bought a used set off a marketplace listing and brought it in for a spec review. Two heads were cracked at the hosel and the lie angles were all over. Fifty-five dollars saved me a season of confusion.

Wedge session changed how I think about bounce entirely. Turns out I was playing a grind meant for firm sand at a course with none. New sole, same lofts, and my bunker play stopped being a lottery.

My son grew four inches over the winter. They fitted him for the next twelve months rather than for right now, and put the re-check date on the sheet. Sensible in a way nowhere else has been.

Came in for a putter, left with the same putter cut three quarters of an inch shorter and bent two degrees upright. Cost me thirty dollars. My start line has never been this repeatable.

The sheet from my first visit made the second visit twice as useful. Two seasons on, we could see exactly how far the lofts had drifted and which clubs I actually use.

Build took a week longer than quoted because a shaft was backordered, and they called me twice to explain rather than letting it slide. The club itself came back exactly to spec.

How These Get Collected
Roughly a month after a build leaves the shop we call to ask two questions: does the club do what the sheet said it would, and would you change anything about how the session ran. The answers get written down. When someone says something worth publishing, we ask whether we can use it and how they would like to be identified.
We do not offer anything in exchange for a review, and we do not filter for five stars. The two four-star notes above are both fair criticisms — one about pace, one about a supplier delay — and leaving them off would misrepresent what booking here is like.
If your session did not go well, tell us directly rather than leaving it. Most problems that reach us within a fortnight are still fixable on the bench, at no charge.
